Picture
I began photographing plants and flowers in the early 2000s. I prefer bringing them into the studio because I love the quiet solitary process of working in that environment. It also allows me the space to study all the subtle detail. It has always amazed me how a small tweak of position or lighting can have such a dramatic effect on the look. In 2018 I moved into the county with 21 acres of land. It was at that point; my love of horticulture really took off. I now have an extensive cut flower garden and grown many of my own subjects. I begin with the seeds in late winter and the photographs are the final step in a long process.
